County Commissioner and Navy Veteran at Coffee and Donuts

What’s happening in Miami County? Come and ask Greg Simmons, newly elected county commissioner.  Commissioner Simmons continues to serve the community to whom he has dedicated himself in multiple positions for many years. Mr. Simmons  served for four years in the United States Navy, being deployed overseas three times during the Vietnam conflict. A graduate of  Piqua High School, Edison State Community College, and Wright State University, he was well prepared to teach law enforcement  and serve in various capacities. He directed government agencies for over 25 years, retiring as Director of West Central Juvenile Facility after working in that position over 14 years. Commissioner Simmons serves as vice president of the commission, while maintaining positions on several boards, including youth services and the Fair Housing board. He is also the current  Chaplin of Miami County Fraternal Order of Police. Join us, fellow veterans, at 9 a.m.  It all starts with free donuts and coffee, Wednesday, March 7, at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum.
