Letter from the President

As 2017 draws to a close, we at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum have a lot for which to be grateful. We saw numerous volunteers, organizations and business partners donate their time and resources to the museum and the 4th of July parade.  2017 was also a year of reflection of where we started and where we are now.  It’s hard to believe we’re going on our 7th year, here at the Masonic Temple building.  As we embark upon the New Year, we will strive to continue to meet the needs of our community and our veterans as a place of education and a place to have comradery.

While many things have changed since our inception, many things have not. While not always easy and not always seamless, we continue to stay focused on our mission of honoring, preserving, and perpetuating the memory and dignity of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This being said, we have a huge struggle ahead of us.  The Masonic temple has decided to sell the building that we currently share.  Beginning in 2018, we will be searching for a new home for the Museum and all of its artifacts.

In 2018, we will need more volunteers than ever before and also monetary donations to offset the cost of rent for our new home.  We are a small museum operated by all volunteers including all board members.  We will continue to move forward with having our monthly coffee and donuts as usual and business will continue as usual.  Keep the museum in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to look for another location that we can call home.

Thank you to all of our supporters, all of our volunteers and to all of our Veterans.  If it weren’t for all of you, we wouldn’t be here and God Bless you all!

Happy New Year!
